Our mission is to be a family of Christians growing in faith through worship and service.
Absolutely. Whether you are trying to figure out what faith means, just curious about God, hurting from some bad experiences with the church or well-established in your walk of faith, you are welcome to drop in for worship or just for a chat with our pastor or another member of our staff.
Our services are pretty traditional. We follow a liturgy, which consists of songs, Scripture, prayers, and responses. If you haven't been to church in awhile or ever and aren't sure what a liturgy is....No worries! We will provide everything you need to easily follow along & join in the worship service. There is no experience necessary.
Clothes! Really though, we just want you to come as you are. When we say everyone is welcome here, we mean everyone. Whether you show up in a suit & tie, heels or flip flops, a dress or jeans & a t-shirt - it doesn't make a difference to us.
Absolutely! Children of all ages are welcome at Calvary. Of course, every parent wishes for their child to sit perfectly during a service. We know that isn't reality! Children participate in worship differently than adults do. Sometimes they want to twirl or dance as we sing. Sometimes they make a little noise. Children never bothered Jesus. They don't bother us either. We welcome them with open arms!
We do have a nursery available with rocking chairs, puzzles, toys, and books. This area is open for parents to use at their discretion. Both our men's & women's restroom are equipped with changing tables.
Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome to receive Communion. We offer both wine & grape juice. If you are hesitant to receive Communion for any reason, you may still come forward. Simply keep your hands folded and the Pastor will offer a prayer blessing for you.
What about kids & Communion?
If your children are young and you don’t feel they are ready to receive Communion, they can simply keep their hands folded and receive a prayer blessing from the Pastor.
An adult who has been baptized simply needs to state his/her faith in God – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and to claim Jesus as Lord and Savior to become a member. An adult who has not been baptized makes that same statement of faith and expresses the desire to be baptized in the name of God. Baptism makes that adult a member of the church.
Children who are old enough to make decisions and statements of faith – like an adult – would follow the same process as adults. Young children who have been baptized are received into membership when their parent or parents become members. Young children who have not been baptized are received through baptism and their parent or parents make promises to raise those children in the Christian faith and as a member of the church.
When you become a member, you make a commitment to live out your faith in your daily life, and all the members of Calvary make a commitment to support you in your life of faith. That is true for adults who become members and children, too.
The specifics of what “a life of faith” looks like varies from person to person and it can take a lifetime to discern what that means for you. Becoming a member offers you many opportunities to learn and grow in your faith. In addition to regular opportunities for worship, being a member gives you:
